Functional Insights
Multiple Work Relationships: Useful if you have someone as a Contractor and Employee at the same time OR your employee is simultaneously employed by two legal entities. Use this feature only if this scenario is common in your Organization. If there are only a handful of such employees in the entire firm; then this feature does not need to be used. This feature is not turned on or off via configuration. Business users just need to be instructed to not create concurrent multiple work relationships for a person.
Work Terms:(If you are a small or a midsized firm) do not enable this feature.
Multiple Assignments: It is tempting to use this feature especially if you have people working multiple jobs at different pay rates. If there are only a handful of such employees in the entire firm; then do not use this feature.
Defining work structures in Common Set: For most small and mid-sized firms; you will not go wrong with defining all the work structures in the “Common set”. Keep it simple.
Technical Insights
sFTP endpoints: The endpoints alias that was given to you as part of your Cloud account provisioning are not accessible from the Oracle HCM Cloud application. Search in MOS with the endpoint alias that was provisioned with the account; you will find the endpoint alias that needs to be set up in the BI Admin pages. If you do not find this information in the support forums; open an SR.
Delivering a file directly to a third party from Oracle HCM Cloud: Setting up a direct delivery to a third party requires Oracle SR which involves whitelisting. If any of the underlying IP Address / Port information changes over the course of time; your file delivery will be interrupted. To restore the delivery, you will need to go through the Oracle SR process. With this in mind, if you have the ability to manage file transfer securely in-house or via the use of another cloud solution; you are better off deploying that to download the files from the Oracle sFTP endpoint and then push the file to the recipient locations.
